Open Your Eyes News

“There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is generally adopted.” - Schopenhauer, Die Kunst Recht zu Behalten

Welcome again to the weekly Open Your Eyes News major news story summary. As usual all of the items we reference are mainstream news articles gathered from over 100 media outlets worldwide. We find them, to save you the time in sourcing them yourselves.

Over the last week many very significant events have taken place while much of the world was otherwise engaged in ritual gorging and merriment. As the old saying goes in politics “It was a good week to bury bad news”. Probably the most significant was a scientific report that was released just before midnight on New Years Eve in the leading scientific journal Science Daily: No Rise of Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Fraction in Past 160 Years, New Research Finds The best place to hide inconvenient truths is out in the open, when no-one is looking, especially if it could seriously undermine a very lucrative worldwide multi-trillion dollar industry for banks and governments.

Other key events that took place this week must be viewed from the perspective of earlier events (see Flashback’s below) particularly the current political unrest in Iran that may just save it a US bombing, though may therefore jump Yemen up into that unenviable position of being next. And of course linked to that story is the rather suspect events relating to the botched “terror attack” in the USA while has resulted in calls for full  body ‘naked’ scanners in every airport worldwide, a massive step backwards for civil liberties, but a major financial boost (at AU$200k a piece) for a certain Israeli owned technology & security company that we profiled ICTS (see below). Is now the time to sit idly by?

Peter Spencer Interview on 2SM

TMA members and solution seekers,
Please share this interview with everyone you know.  If you haven’t heard of Peter Spencer, Google Peter Spencer and get talking with other members on ways to get the word out.  This is an Australian Issue and it needs our support.
Cheers,
Phil
I urge everyone to listen to the latest 2SM Peter Spencer interview (attached – thanks Frank Smolle). It is very moving, and shows the terrible human cost of allowing the state to violate the sanctity of property. The loss of hope and despair in Peter’s voice … it is really outrageous that we have allowed things to get to this point, where the hopes and plans of individuals are destroyed by the regulatory state.

This interview should be required listening for all politicians, and anyone else who doesn’t see a problem with regulating every aspect of an individual’s life, or with violating private property rights “in the public interest”. How is the public interest served when individuals are driven to the depths of despair like this?

French Revolution! Carbon tax ruled unconstitutional just two days before taking effect.

This new French carbon tax was scheduled to go into law on Jan1, 2010. The tax was steep: 17 euros per ton of carbon dioxide (USD $24.40). In a stunning move, and surely a blow to warmists everywhere, the tax has been found unconstitutional and thrown out. Originally found here (Google Translation).

Lord Monckton was kind enough to assist me in deciphering the meaning of the ruling and writes:

In France, if at least 60 Deputies of the House and 60 Senators appeal to the Constitutional Council, it has the power to pronounce on the constitutionality of a proposed law – in the present case, the 2010 national budget of France, which contained enabling provisions (loi deferee) for a carbon levy. The Council found that these enabling provisions were unconstitutional on two grounds: that the exemptions contained within the provisions for a carbon levy vitiated the primary declared purpose of the levy, to combat carbon emissions and hence “global warming”; and that the exemptions would cause the levy to fall disproportionately on gasoline and heating oils and not on other carbon emissions, thereby breaching the principle that taxation should be evenly and fairly borne.

The Press release from the French Constitutional Council is here in English (Google Translated) and in original French

Here’s a Deustch-Welle news article on the reversal.

France’s Constitutional Council says the country’s proposed carbon tax is illegal. This is a severe blow to French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s plans to fight climate change.

France’s Constitutional Council has struck down a carbon tax that was planned to take effect on January 1st. The council, which ensures the constitutionality of French legislation, said too many polluters were exempted in the measure and the tax burden was not fairly distributed.

It was estimated that 93 percent of industrial emissions outside of fuel use, including the emissions of more than 1,000 of France’s top polluting industrial sites, would be exempt from the tax, which would have charged 17 euros per ton of emitted carbon dioxide.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has argued the tax is necessary to combat climate change and reduce the country’s dependence on oil.

However, the council’s ruling is a severe blow to both Sarkozy’s environmental plan as well as France’s budget for 2010. The government now has to find a way to come up with about 4.1 billion euros in revenue that was expected from the tax.

Welcome to Orwell’s World 2010 - By John Pilger.

Welcome to Orwell’s World 2010
By John Pilger

December 30, 2009 - “Information Clearing House” — In Nineteen Eighty-Four, George Orwell described a superstate called Oceania, whose language of war inverted lies that “passed into history and became truth. ‘Who controls the past’, ran the Party slogan, ‘controls the future: who controls the present controls the past’.”

Barack Obama is the leader of a contemporary Oceania. In two speeches at the close of the decade, the Nobel Peace Prize winner affirmed that peace was no longer peace, but rather a permanent war that “extends well beyond Afghanistan and Pakistan” to “disorderly regions and diffuse enemies”. He called this “global security” and invited our gratitude. To the people of Afghanistan, which America has invaded and occupied, he said wittily: “We have no interest in occupying your country.”

In Oceania, truth and lies are indivisible. According to Obama, the American attack on Afghanistan in 2001 was authorised by the United Nations Security Council. There was no UN authority. He said the “the world” supported the invasion in the wake of 9/11 when, in truth, all but three of 37 countries surveyed by Gallup expressed overwhelming opposition. He said that America invaded Afghanistan “only after the Taliban refused to turn over [Osama] bin Laden”. In 2001, the Taliban tried three times to hand over bin Laden for trial, reported Pakistan’s military regime, and were ignored. Even Obama’s mystification of 9/11 as justification for his war is false. More than two months before the Twin Towers were attacked, the Pakistani foreign minister, Niaz Naik, was told by the Bush administration that an American military assault would take place by mid-October. The Taliban regime in Kabul, which the Clinton administration had secretly supported, was no longer regarded as “stable” enough to ensure America’s control over oil and gas pipelines to the Caspian Sea. It had to go.

Obama’s most audacious lie is that Afghanistan today is a “safe haven” for al-Qaeda’s attacks on the West. His own national security adviser, General James Jones, said in October that there were “fewer than 100” al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. According to US intelligence, 90 per cent of the Taliban are hardly Taliban at all, but “a tribal localised insurgency [who] see themselves as opposing the US because it is an occupying power”. The war is a fraud. Only the terminally gormless remain true to the Obama brand of “world peace”.

Beneath the surface, however, there is serious purpose. Under the disturbing General Stanley McCrystal, who gained distinction for his assassination squads in Iraq, the occupation of one of the most impoverished countries is a model for those “disorderly regions” of the world still beyond Oceania’s reach. This is known as COIN, or counter-insurgency network, which draws together the military, aid organisations, psychologists, anthropologists, the media and public relations hirelings. Covered in jargon about winning hearts and minds, its aim is to pit one ethnic group against another and incite civil war: Tajiks and Uzbecks against Pashtuns.

The Americans did this in Iraq and destroyed a multi-ethnic society. They bribed and built walls between communities who had once inter-married, ethnically cleansing the Sunni and driving millions out of the country. The embedded media reported this as “peace”, and American academics bought by Washington and “security experts” briefed by the Pentagon appeared on the BBC to spread the good news. As in Nineteen Eighty-Four, the opposite was true.

Something similar is planned for Afghanistan. People are to be forced into “target areas” controlled by warlords bankrolled by the Americans and the opium trade. That these warlords are infamous for their barbarism is irrelevant. “We can live with that,” a Clinton-era diplomat said of the persecution of women in a “stable” Taliban-run Afghanistan. Favoured western relief agencies, engineers and agricultural specialists will attend to the “humanitarian crisis” and so “secure” the subjugated tribal lands.

That is the theory. It worked after a fashion in Yugoslavia where the ethnic-sectarian partition wiped out a once peaceful society, but it failed in Vietnam where the CIA’s “strategic hamlet program” was designed to corral and divide the southern population and so defeat the Viet Cong — the Americans’ catch-all term for the resistance, similar to “Taliban”.

Behind much of this are the Israelis, who have long advised the Americans in both the Iraq and Afghanistan adventures. Ethnic-cleansing, wall-building, checkpoints, collective punishment and constant surveillance – these are claimed as Israeli innovations that have succeeded in stealing most of Palestine from its native people. And yet for all their suffering, the Palestinians have not been divided irrevocably and they endure as a nation against all odds.

The most telling forerunners of the Obama Plan, which the Nobel Peace Prize winner and his strange general and his PR men prefer we forget, are those that failed in Afghanistan itself. The British in the 19th century and the Soviets in the 20th century attempted to conquer that wild country by ethnic cleansing and were seen off, though after terrible bloodshed. Imperial cemeteries are their memorials. People power, sometimes baffling, often heroic, remains the seed beneath the snow, and invaders fear it.
“It was curious,” wrote Orwell in Nineteen Eighty-Four, “to think that the sky was the same for everybody, in Eurasia or Eastasia as well as here. And the people under the sky were also very much the same, everywhere, all over the world … people ignorant of one another’s existence, held apart by walls of hatred and lies, and yet almost exactly the same people who … were storing up in their hearts and bellies and muscles the power that would one day overturn the world.”

Proved: There is no climate crisis.

Proved: There is no climate crisis:

Major paper shows CO2’s effect on temperature was overstated 500-2000%

WASHINGTON (7-15-08) - Mathematical proof that there is no “climate crisis” appears today in a major, peer-reviewed paper in Physics and Society, a learned journal of the 46,000-strong American Physical Society, SPPI reports.

Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement
of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.

Climate Sensitivity Reconsidered [http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/index.cfm] demonstrates that later this century a doubling of the concentration of CO2 compared with pre-industrial levels will increase global mean surface temperature not by the 6 °F predicted by the IPCC but, harmlessly, by little more than 1 °F.

Lord Monckton concludes –
“… Perhaps real-world climate sensitivity is very much below the IPCC’s estimates. Perhaps, therefore, there is no ‘climate crisis’ at all. … The correct policy approach to a non-problem is to have the courage to do nothing.”
Larry Gould, Professor of Physics at the University of Hartford and Chair (2004) of the New England Section of the American Physical Society (APS), has been studying climate-change science for four years. He said:
“I was impressed by an hour-long academic lecture which criticized claims about ‘global warming’ and explained the implications of the physics of radiative transfer for climate change. I was pleased that the audience responded to the informative presentation with a prolonged, standing ovation. That is what happened when, at the invitation of the President of our University, Christopher Monckton lectured here in Hartford this spring. I am delighted that Physics and Society, an APS journal, has published his detailed paper refining and reporting his important and revealing results.
“To me the value of this paper lies in its dispassionate but ruthlessly clear exposition – or, rather, exposé – of the IPCC’s method of evaluating climate sensitivity. The detailed arguments in this paper, and, indeed, in a large number of other scientific papers, point up extensive errors, including numerous projection errors of climate models, as well as misleading statements by the IPCC. Consequently, there are no rational grounds for believing either the IPCC or any other claims of dangerous anthropogenic ‘global warming’.”

Lord Monckton’s paper reveals that –

* The IPCC’s 2007 climate summary overstated CO2’s impact on temperature by 500-2000%;
* CO2 enrichment will add little more than 1 °F (0.6 °C) to global mean surface temperature by 2100;
* Not one of the three key variables whose product is climate sensitivity can be measured directly;
* The IPCC’s values for these key variables are taken from only four published papers, not 2,500;
* The IPCC’s values for each of the three variables, and hence for climate sensitivity, are overstated;
“Global warming” halted ten years ago, and surface temperature has been falling for seven years;
* Not one of the computer models relied upon by the IPCC predicted so long and rapid a cooling;
* The IPCC inserted a table into the scientists’ draft, overstating the effect of ice-melt by 1000%;
* It was proved 50 years ago that predicting climate more than two weeks ahead is impossible;
* Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth warmed;
* In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years.

Drew Goddard From Aussie Band Karnivool Shares His 2 Cents On The NWO Agenda

Hey everyone,

Since the website went live around the same time last year we’ve had a number of bands from all over Australia contact us about getting involved with TMA or simply offering us support.

Drew Goddard is the lead guitarist of a band called Karnivool, a band which has sored to incredibly heights over the past 5 years and is now recieving worldwide attention in the form of international gigs and interviews.

Below is an excerpt from an interview with Drew on a US website called Frantik Mag, to read the full interview click here.

Interview excerpt:

“Set Fire To the Hive” has been out for some time now and it has definitely seeped into my skin like an infection and I love it! What sparked the creative fire inside of you guys this time
around and what influenced the overall production of the recording?

‘Set Fire to the Hive’ was born through sheer frustration at the state of humanity, particularly in the western world. We’re being sold a fictitious reality through the mainstream media, and it’s become quite apparent that we’re having a little bit of trouble letting go of it. Relax! Everything will be taken care of by the same trustworthy folks that so thoughtfully manufactured the problems in the first place. We’re up in arms about Britney Spears miming and Tiger Woods’ infidelities while a Tyrannical Global Government and a world extremely reminiscent of Orwell’s 1984 is literally on our doorstep. Pure madness. It’s time that we open our eyes, free our hearts and minds from the shackles placed on us not only from ‘the powers that be’ but more importantly from our fellow humans, and really start thinking for ourselves. It’s a call to arms to unite as one world and one consciousness, remembering who and why we are, and evolving out of the mire. Or maybe it’s just about a beekeeper who forgot to put his ciggie butt out then got stung on the arse by a swarm of angry bees? Whatever you make of it really.

Did the economical state of things in the world have any impact on the writing and recording of this album by any chance?

The ecomomical state of the world is one aspect to the overall elephant in the room that emerged for me personally during the creative process but definitely not a focus in itself. The “Hegelian Dialectic” and “Problem-Reaction-Solution” which the economic situation falls neatly into however, did have a significant impact on my creative outlet.

Let’s shake it up right now. H1N1. Take the vaccine or skip it or take it when necessary?

I’m definitely not taking that shit. No one is forcing me to either. People should do their homework before taking a jab. Just another case of “problem-reaction-solution” in my opinion.

With the year 2012 closely approaching, do you guys think the Mayans are correct about the end of days closing in or what do you guys think will happen in 2012?

I don’t know if anyone can say for sure. This is a point of contention amongst our band members. For me personally, even if I had never heard anything about the Mayan Prophecies and their Calendar, I would still think we are in for a huge change soon. In my humble opinion everything that is happening around us at the moment including all the pain and suffering is providing us with a choice. For anyone that has clued on to the NWO agenda, I like to the think that the ‘powers that be’ are only doing us a favour by closing the walls in us. It’s only giving us the catalyst and the tools to change and evolve. It’s all a part of that cosmic power struggle between ‘us and them’ in order to show us that maybe there actually really is no such thing as ‘us and them’ or ‘good and evil’ or ‘black and white’. Maybe it’s both, maybe it’s neither? Or maybe it’s both and neither at the same time? I say THANK YOU to the power hungry elite for holding a mirror up to humanity. I just think that there’s things we can’t be taught, but we have to learn it for ourselves if we are to take the next step. Science and spirituality and other so called paradigms are currently converging in a beautiful alchemy and we are beginning to realize some fundamental truths about the nature of reality and our place within the cosmos. This world that we experience with our 5 senses is just a tiny, minute fraction of what is really out there. I don’t know what’s going to happen, I reckon it’s gonna be a bumpy ride, but regardless, it’s an amazing time to be alive.

And I thought your earlier sentiment was deep. This one takes the cake! You actually have some real interesting views on that subject and I totally agree, something is going to happen. Just don’t know how big of a scale it would be but it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Great choices! What would you guys love to see happen in the year 2010?

The first international magic mushroom day.. where the whole world stops to get really fucking high for just one day. Yeah right! :)

Going to start the petition for that now. Everyone needs to eat magic mushrooms at least once in their boring lives to get a glimpse of the other side or have a life changing epiphany! How do you guys feel about people’s addictive obsession with networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and Myspace?

Like everything there’s positives and negatives. It has shown that there is an inherent need for people to connect to one another and to share information and opinions. It is bringing us closer together and new information has the ability to go viral, which can only be a good thing, I think. Some see the internet as the beginnings of a collective intelligence or a supermind. But as we all know the internet is a showcase for both extremes.. human stupidity and human endeavour. At least we’re learning more about ourselves and each other, even if it is Joe from Springton broadcasting to the world that he’s just soiled himself in his computer chair. I like to think that truly great ideas stick, while trivial rubbish fades into the ether. But maybe I’m just being idealistic? We’ll see.

What’s next for Karnivool?

We’ve just finished another Australian Tour which was amazing. We’re gonna shack up in our home town of Perth for a month in our new jam room and get busy on album #3. Come mid January 2010, we’re off on the Big Day Out Tour which travels around Australia and Auckland NZ. Our record “Sound Awake” is coming out in the USA and Canada February 16 and then in a bunch of European countries – Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherland and Ireland on March 5. We’ll be following this up with tours through these territories, while continuing to work on album #3.
